THE ORIGIN OF ME

THE ORIGIN OF ME
(Part five)

Got another story to tell the grand kids today
While out in the barn and playing in the hay
The sheep's in the meadow, cow's in the corn
We better bring them in, as sure as you're born
Now to continue my tale of life through the ages
We'll open the book and we'll turn a few pages
We'll skip ahead but just a few million years
I'll tell how I helped Noah to make a few beers
Now Noah was busy, he was working ever so hard
Building Gods great Ark way out in his back yard
Now every week on the Sabbath Noah had to rest
He had to get some relaxation to be at his best
From scraps of lumber we built us a keg or two
Brewed some beer, filled 'em with our homebrew
Meanwhile I helped Noah build the Ark you know
So when the flood came me and Gramma could go
We worked all week just like we knew we should
Now Noah got thirsty and he drank all he could
Poor Noah got drunk and took off all his clothes
His daughters covered him up before anyone arose
Now the Good Lord forgave us, both Noah and me
And then said from now on you better make tea
We doubled up on our work and we put in overtime
When we got done, the Lord said it was sublime
Now round up the animals, bring them two by two
Bring the Hip hippopotamus and the K Kangaroo
Lions, tigers, bears and birds, even the mouse
Get them settled in the Ark like it's a new house
Bring all of the animals, don't forget even a few
Because after the flood we have to start all anew
How we gonna get critters from all over the world
Wind started up and the flag on the Ark unfurled
It must have been  a sign, here all the animals came
Every kind there was, some we couldn't even name
They marched down the road in pairs by them self
The birds flew in and landed on the Ark on a shelf
The storm clouds came then and it started to rain
We had to launch the Ark without any champagne
God sealed all the doors and we began to float
There we all were, safe on that wonderful boat
Looked on the mountain, watched the water rise
What do you think we saw much to our surprise
There were the unicorns still trying to play
That's why you won't see them to this very day
I think that's enough story it's time to go in
I'll tell you some more when you visit me again
