SNAKE SNAKE RATTLESNAKE

SNAKE SNAKE RATTLESNAKE

Yall ain't gonna believe this shit
But my Iowa cousin will swear to it
At summers end back in ninety nine
His big corn crop had done just fine
Had three silo's plumb full of corn
Sent his hired hand there that morn
Load the truck for the haul to town
Haul 5 more when he comes back down
Ed came running up for goodness sake
Can't load it up theres a rattlesnake
Cousin put on high boots, went to look
This had to be one for the record book
Well some grains of corn in an old can
Tied to strings in my cousins kids hand
Kid knew that Ed was afraid of a snake
When Ed stepped out,he'd give it a shake
The sound of corn shaking in an old can
Sounds nothing like a rattlesnake, man
But Ed's a yankee, he just couldn't tell
Every time he heard it,he let out a yell
Jump in the truck and sit like a dingaling
Damn, sure wish I'd been shaking the string
