Once upon a time a long time ago
Dad told me a story so I know it was true
My Aunt had a parrot red, green and blue
And it would talk and mimic me and you
my aunt and uncle, very religious you see
Considered gambling and lying a sin to be
Told my cousin Fred they had to go away
And they'd be gone for most of the day
Fred and brother Ken and a bunch of pards
Brought out a blanket, the dice and cards
Had a good game and were shooting craps
Aunt and uncle came early, they got trapped
So in the blanket everything they wrapped
Hid it in the closet and in chairs they sat
Sitting talking when aunt and uncle came in
Like nothing went on, just visiting them
When in the conversation the parrot joined
7 come 11 Baby needs a new pair of shoes
This is the phrase that the parrot coined
Yeah, you guessed it that's what he said
If looks could kill the parrot would be dead
The rest I'll leave to your imagination
