THE ORIGIN OF ME (Part three)

THE ORIGIN OF ME (Part three)

Now after just about another million years
The dinosaurs were gone but we shed no tears
The dinos and mammoth were too wild to tame
Now they're all gone, there's no more big game
They were all getting pretty mean of course
Besides all that I could still ride my horse
With the dinos gone the kids all moved back
And they had kids of their own by the pack
Hunting was difficult now as a way of life
I think we'll raise cows I told my cavewife
Lots of mouths to feed, way too many at best
So we'll get a ranch and start the wild west
We got a ranch and people came by the flock
Roy Rogers,Dale Evans,Wyatt Earp and the Doc
The cowboys and Indians, they had a big fight
To this very day I don't know who was right
Railroads and trains they built by the score
When no one was looking they built some more
About that time to keep from getting bored
Down the road came a man named Henry Ford
He found a way to make cars fast and cheap
Now folks could afford to buy their own heap
Assembly line style made it swift and adroit
Made from Pittsburg steel there in Detroit
Back then they were strong and built to last
The industrial revolution was coming on fast
Highways and bridges were built for the cars
Now they're building rockets to go to stars
They try every day but they miss their mark
Guess I should tell them to wait until dark
Everyone knows that stars come out at night
If they wait until then, get there they might
Guess that's enough history just for today
But come on back, never know what I'll say
Sometimes the story's good, at times so-so
But if you don't come back you'll never know
