Labor Day is finally here
A holiday we all hold so dear
But I think it's a bit queer
Labor is not the thing we cheer
But cookouts almost every year
Partytime with friends and beer
Family's are coming never fear
To have a picnic so get in gear
Get the grill and cook the steer
Anything else you want to sear
On a grill no rules to adhere
As smoke drifts far and near
All the neighbors will appear
On the hotdogs mustard smear
Relish or catsup very austere
When the eating is done you hear
The quick goodbyes so very clear
At cleanup time they disappear
But we'll do it again next year
