APATHY TO ANARCHY

What can I do about it,I am only one voice,
Its what they say, and then to play they go,
People don't matter they don't have a choice,
And when you ask them to vote they say no,
Or they say they will then party with a friend,
Then laugh at you for caring and trying again,
To keep our freedom from having a bad end,
I'll tell you a story of a place I once knew,
A great place to live full of freedom galore,
But complacency and apathy started and grew,
Leaders took some freedoms and then some more,
The people by themselves knew not what to do,
Nobody cared or wanted to speak on the floor,
They had only one voice or at most just a few,
So a little bit at a time their rights disappeared,
None of the people could believe it was true,
Till the time came it was just like they feared,
They had no more congress or no right to vote,
Weapons had been taken, gun control endeared,
A dictator ruled with proclamations he wrote,
He rounded them up, and put them all in a row,
The only way out of it was if he gave you a note,
Told them where to work and live don't you know,
The notes got them deported far from their folks,
Or maybe just shot, never a trace did they show,
He dictated when to arise, sleep, eat and play,
They played one day a month the rest were his,
If they didn't like it they just better not say,
Don't say or complain, you do not speak of this,
A few of them tried and disappeared that way,
A sad, sad story and I'm so glad it's not true,
Now this kinda thing don't happen in one day,
And unless we wake up can happen to me and you.
