THE ORIGIN OF ME
(Part four)
The grandkids got together and this is what they said
Grandpa, tell us another story, right outta your head
Some more about the dinosaurs when you were just a kid
And the pretty cave woman bride you found like you did
If you tell us another story and make it really good
We promise to sit and listen and do just what we should
Okay, here we go kiddos, lets go back in time somewhat
And see how things really were and how things were not
The primordial ooze was boring, there wasn't much to do
I think I better skip that part, and I think you do too
When I first crawled out of it, travel was really slow
Can't go fast crawling on four feet, don't you know
The dinosaurs about got me, I thought my time was done
And just barely in time on two legs I learned to run
It was much faster and better too, and almost overnight
I became the toughest and the rest knew it was right
I grabbed a prehistoric alligator from down in the ooze
We fought a few rounds and then I had a pair of shoes
While we were fighting we knocked down a few big trees
That's where I found my caveman club if you please
On two legs with my club I thought there is no fear
Then the ground began to shake and what was that I hear
Well I got ready to run and my legs I began to flex
Out of the dark primeval forest came a tyrannosarus Rex
After the fight was all over I began to laugh and snort
Tyrannosaurus couldn't fight his arms were much too short
The cavewoman heard the noise came to see what was what
I fell in love at first sight and clubbed her on the spot
Took her back to my cave, she cooked Tyrannosarus steaks
We sat by the fire and learned to talk for goodness sakes
Many sweet nights we spent and everything was just right
We didn't have movies, we watched pterodactyls in flight
Then one day she said she was bored in this chicken coop
So I found us a neighbor by the name of Alley Oop
He brought his cavewoman Oola,to visit at our cave
The cavewomen talked about the clamshells they could save
You may not know Alley Oop, he was in the comics for years
And there's been songs about him too, for your ears
He had a dinosaur named Dinny that he liked to ride
Him and Oola on Dinny,me on Dino, cavewoman by my side
Now my story's getting long, The grandkids are asleep
So my story did it's job and the rest will have to keep
Come back and check my blog, we'll have to do this again
And I'll have another part of this story for you friend
