In honor of National Talk like a Pirate Day
I tried it on me mateys but what can I say?
They didn't understand or didn't want to play
They said I was rude, for talking that way
But it's a tradition that I refuse to betray
And I'll talk like a pirate if I want anyway
So ye scurvy seadogs as I sail up the quay
Wish me smooth sailing and anchors aweigh
Just having me fun so give me some leeway
I'll scuttle ye amidships to start the fray
And unbatten your hatches, your riggin belay
Your decks litter with cannonballs astray
Then I'll board you and take whatever I may
All ye landlubbers on your knees and pray
That I don't make you walk the plank anyway
Or perchance keelhaul you in the sea so grey
And hang you from the yardarm to swing and sway
But it's all in fun on Talk like a Pirate Day
