THE LITTLE GREEN WHEELCHAIR

Long ago, longer than I like to recall
In the hospital and climbing the wall
The reason I was there I'd rather forget
But on with my story, you're waiting I bet
Although it was bad the memory's dear
I was in the hospital for almost a year
Needing help with boredom,I do declare
A nurse got me a little green wheelchair
I loved my new freedom,it seemed to fit
And I really took full advantage of it
Up to forth floor, where I went anyhow
But that was surgery, they did not allow
Well, down to the first floor I would go
Out in the parking lot, don't you know
When time for vitals, and to take my med
They called on the P.A.Come back to bed
Back to my bed and took care of it all
So then it was time for our dinner call
Hall to that room sloped gently downhill
Double doors left, get you there,it will
One day I was hungry,as hungry could be
I flew down the hall,nurse I didn't see
She was coming out as I tried to turn in
Oh I hope I never see such a wreck again
She carried 2 trays for kids stuck in bed
And 1 tray of meds held up over her head
The meds went 1 way, food went the other
The nurse sat on my lap just like a mother
We flew across the room before I stopped
Doctors & nurses laughed till they popped
My nurse wasn't hurt except for her pride
Doc said I took her for a hell of a ride
Now the end of my story for whoever seeks
I lost my green wheelchair two long weeks
Stay in my bed or in my room I could set
But I'll post more adventures, later on yet
