THE SIGN IN THE HALL

Years ago as a bachelor when I was still free
I lived at the college in the dorm you see
I had a steady girlfriend, her name was Bea
My girl on the weekdays was real sweet to me
And on the weekends a change of pace to be
She was a blonde and a smart one, yessiree
She fell out the upstairs window one night
She didn't get hurt but it was quite a fright
When I asked her why she didn't use the door
Well Duhh! She said read the sign in the hall,
 "No girls allowed thru the door  from ten till four."
